Pranayama Workshop with Michael

- Discover the power of Pranayama in this enriching workshop that blends yoga philosophy, gentle movement, and breathwork to help you cultivate vitality and inner balance. The session will begin with grounding sun salutations and basic asana practice followed by exploring several pranayama techniques, including Vishama Vritti as taught by B.N.S. Iyengar. This holistic approach supports the nervous system, expands breath capacity, and strengthens the mind‑body connection, offering a transformative experience for anyone looking to deepen their yoga practice and enhance overall well‑being.
- Michael has been practicing yoga for over 14 years, maintaining a dedicated daily practice since 2017. Yoga has been a profound catalyst for transformation in his life, guiding him from a past marked by substance use disorder towards a path of integrity, clarity, and inner purity.
- In 2021, after many years as a Bikram Yoga practitioner, Michael was introduced to Ashtanga Yoga. He went on to study online with senior Sanskrit scholars and, in the fall of 2025, traveled to India to study directly with BNS Iyengar, a direct student of Krishnamacharya.
- Michael holds a deep reverence for the yogic path and a genuine passion for sharing its wisdom with others. Since 2022, he has been practicing the pranayama techniques taught by BNS Iyengar, committing to a consistent daily practice beginning in May 2025. This work has profoundly regulated his nervous system, reshaped his inner landscape, and cultivated a way of being that is calmer, more peaceful, and more compassionate toward himself and others.
