SOUND & MUSIC
It is not a secret that sound has the power to influence our physical or emotional state. We are constantly experiencing sound in our everyday lives, whether it is the music we listen to or simply the sounds of our surroundings. We can pay full attention to the sound if we aim to hear it or it can stay in the background of our day, passing us by.
Take a moment, pause, and listen to the sound around you. Do you find it soothing, or loud and interrupting? The one intuned with their physical body can easily see how their body reacts to different sounds.
SOUND HEALING
Sound has been proven to bring healing changes to people struggling with anxiety, depression, and other mental disorders. It is actively used in mindfulness meditations, yoga classes, breathwork sessions, and other practices to enhance physical and mental health. The most commonly known sound healing instruments are Tibetan or Himalayan singing bowls. However, there are so many other instruments from different cultures and traditions that are not as popular yet but seem like getting out there. For example Australian didgeridoo has been used as a healing tool for more than 40,000 years.
Join us in a powerful session of Sound Healing. We are so excited to share it with all our hearts!
CREATE THE SOUND
Every day people all over the world gather to make music and sing, whether it is to celebrate the holiday or commemorate the one who left their body. Think about the heartbeat, the scream of a newborn baby, the sound of the breath. Sound means life.
Ancient Yogic traditions taught us to use the spoken sounds, words, and songs to create sound and focus our mind on to meditate. We are being introduced to the depth and very core of Yoga as an idea or union of body mind and spirit. Vedic literature presents us with mantras, ancient chants that have been used to evoke certain qualities in oneself. Chanting mantras is particularly powerful in healing. It is usually accompanied by instruments and or clapping. Focusing your mind on ancient prayers has an enormous effect on your physical and mental health.
